Join us at Berry School of Arts as we celebrate 10 years of the Steel City Strings, with a concert dedicated to what ‘home’ means to us. The word ‘home’ conjures up sensations such as familiarity, security and comfort. Such notions go to the core of our identity and our need to belong.

Hear two new commissions funded by local supporters

+ Adriel Sukumar’s ‘Visions of Home’

+ Barry Conyngham’s ‘Under the Escarpment’

together with music by Andrew Ford, Antonin Dvorak, Felix Mendelssohn and Elena Katz-Chernin.

In Debussy's Sacred and Profane Dances of 1904 the orchestra was joined by harpist Paulina Smirnov whose scintillating playing created a wonderful and subtly-nuanced centrepiece for the concert.
